A fundraiser has been set up by Draiocht NUIG to raise funds for the school and children’s home in Talamarang, Nepal.
Flash floods earlier this year caused significant damage to the local school in the Nepalese village, where the majority of Draiocht NUIG’s projects are based.
Draiocht NUIG was set up in 2008 to generate funding, awareness, and a volunteer workforce to support community based projects in Tanzania and Nepal.
Like many charities around the world, the pandemic has negatively impacted Draiocht NUIG’s ability to support their long term projects in Talamarang, which include a school and a children’s home.
The fundraiser surpassed its €1,000 target within days, and is now closing in on €2,000 as of Tuesday morning.
