Emergency personnel praised as Tuam Fire Station officially opens

Tributes have been paid to the courage and dedication of emergency personnel in the region as Tuam Fire Station officially opens.

The Station, which became operational in September 2018, officially opened today.

Minister Ciaran Cannon said: “This kind of modern facility brings great peace of mind to a local community and the Government investment in this facility has been part of a €40m national investment programme to provide for the construction and refurbishment for fire stations across the country.

“It is also indicative of the commitment to supporting communities and ensuring their safety in rural regions.

“I wish to take this opportunity to acknowledge the dedication and courage of the personnel based at Tuam Fire Station and all our emergency personnel across the region.

Minister Cannon added: “These are the people who ensure that our loved ones and communities remain safe and occasions like the official opening of Tuam Fire Station remind us of that tremendous effort on our behalf.”
