GMIT is boldly facing into the future and embracing high tech industries at the upcoming Graduate Careers Fair next week.

Over 80 companies and organisations will be coming to the event at GMIT in Galway next Monday, with high tech displays like a peeper robot from Intel and and Jaguar Land Rover is also exhibiting one of its high-tech vehicles.

Prominent companies from a range of industries such as accounting, agriculture, business, construction, science, and software will be looking for the cream of the crop coming out of higher education.

They will be offering students all the latest information they have on both employment and placement opportunities, career trends and advice for students and graduates.

Bridie Killoran, GMIT Careers Officer, says that this is an excellent opportunity for meeting with employers face to face in order to find what roles they offer graduates.

“On the day, the students can research the various roles and sectors which are the best fit for them,” he added.

“The opportunities available to graduates today both in Ireland and abroad are so varied that it is such a good time to be graduating and developing your career.”

Ailish Radcliffe of Jaguar Land Rover said that they offer graduates opportunities to “develop and shape the future” of autonomous and electric vehicles.

“This is a unique and exciting opportunity to establish your career with one of the world’s most prestigious automotive brands Jaguar Land Rover.”

The Careers Fair will take place from 12 to 3pm on the Dublin Road campus, Galway and is open to both students and the public.

The lineup of events for the day includes interviews with company representatives and students, CV Clinics, advice on career opportunities, emerging job growth areas and trends, as well as information on postgraduate study, public and private sector job opportunities and company presentations.
