€87,500 in funding announced for Mullagh & Kilkerrin projects

Projects in Mullagh and Kilkerrin will benefit from €87,500 in LEADER funding, it has been announced.

Over half of the funding will go to Mullagh GAA Club – which will receive over €50,000 to finish a car parking area including costs for surfacing.

Kilkerrin will also receive over €37,000 to upgrade the local Community Centre in the village.

East Galway TD Ciaran Cannon said he was delighted with the announcement, saying that this shows the government’s intention to invest in rural communities.

“This is the third major tranche of LEADER funding awarded to the region in the past few weeks and will make a major difference to projects underway in these communities.

“This also signals the government’s intention to continue to invest in rural communities and I wish to thank Minister Ring and his officials for progressing these applications on behalf of the communities involved,” said Minister Cannon.
