Dunmore Community School going green with solar power plans

Dunmore Community School is working on having an eco-friendly campus with plans for on site solar power.

The community school at Abbeyland South, Dunmore is seeking planning permission to erect two rows of solar panels with a total area of 30 sqm on the southern end of the school building.

Dunmore Community School is a coeducational post-primary school in the trust of the Mercy Order.

It was founded in in 1990 when Incarnate Word College and Saint Patrick’s Vocational School amalgamated.

Galway county council is due to make a decision on whether to grant approval for this planning application by June 23.
