People have been advised to be vigilant when walking through the Crestwood Club House area due to a ‘substantial amount’ of broken glass in the carpark which yesterday left a dog with a slashed paw.

Damien J. Quinn, from Crestwood, Coolagh, says that his dog slashed his paw there yesterday on the way back from his walk.

“The dog is now in a lot of unnecessary discomfort due to the actions of a handful of individuals,” said Damien.

Anti-social behaviour in the area has been a regular occurrence for some time and the City Council and the Gardaí have supported the local community on this matter.

Damien urged locals to be careful when walking through this area.

“Anyone with children, especially toddlers, should take extra care when walking in this area,” he said.

Damien thanked local Councillors, the City Council Ground staff, An Garda Síochána and Galway Fire Brigade for their ongoing support to the local community in relation to this issue
