A second man has been arrested in connection with the investigation into the murder of Ashling Murphy.
The man in his 30s is currently detained in the Eastern Region under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939.
He is being questioned in relation to potential withholding of information contrary to The Offences Against the State (Amendment) Act 1998.
Ashling Murphy was murdered while out running along the Grand Canal in Tullamore last Wednesday, January 12.
The other man in his 30s arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday continues to be questioned today at Tullamore Garda Station.
