Gardaí are investigating after a car and a house were damaged as a result of an arson attack in Galway City over the weekend.

In the early hours of Sunday, January 30, a car was set alight while parked in front of a house at Garran Ard, Doughiska.

A black Audi A6 and the front of a house were damaged in this incident, which occurred at approximately 1:30am.

Gardaí have confirmed that no-one was injured as a result of this arson.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who who may have been in the area between the hours of midnight and 2am on January 30 and who may have information to contact them.

They are also appealing to anyone who may have video footage including dash cam footage covering this location during this period of time to make contact them.

Gardaí say that the investigation is ongoing.
