No change in number of COVID patients in ICU in Galway

The number of COVID-19 patients in Galway’s public hospitals has fallen to 30, with the vast majority of the hospitalised cases in the county receiving treatment at University Hospital Galway.

There are 28 confirmed cases at UHG, down from 32 on Friday evening, while the number of COVID-19 patients in the hospital’s ICU has remained unchanged at four.

The latest HSE data shows that Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe has two confirmed cases and neither are in ICU.

There were 302 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the State when the data was taken at 8pm on Saturday evening.

UHG has the second highest number of confirmed COVID cases in the country.
