There are just two COVID-19 patients in Intensive Care in Galway according to the latest figures from the HSE.

As of Saturday evening there were two COVID patients in the ICU at University Hospital Galway, and none at the ICU in Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe.

Overall there were nine confirmed cases at UHG, and two more at Portiuncula, along with four suspected cases in Ballinasloe.

Nationwide there were 416 people hospitalised with COVID-19 as of 8pm on Saturday, of whom 102 were in the ICU.

There were 21 new cases reported in Galway yesterday, out of 539 nationally.

An additional 14 deaths related to the disease nationwide were also reported by health officials.
