The number of people hospitalised with COVID-19 in Galway has increased to six, with incremental increases seen in the past two days.

All of Galway’s confirmed hospital cases are at University Hospital Galway as of Sunday night data from the HSE shows.

However the number of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit has dropped to just two.

There are a further two suspected cases at UHG, and one at Portiuncula Hospital, for which test results are awaited.

Nationwide there were 355 people hospitalised with COVID-19 in Ireland as of 8pm Sunday, of whom 86 are in the ICU.

A further 29 new cases were reported in Galway yesterday, out of 384 nationwide. However there were no new deaths notified by health officials on Sunday.
