Construction on new Athenry fire station to begin this month

Work on the new €2.5 million fire station for Athenry is due to get underway this month.

Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Michael “Moegie” Maher signed the contract for the new station back on February 20.

The new station will consist of 361sqm, single storey building, with garage space for three fire trucks, along with equipment storage areas and other facilities.

The €2.5 million project is expected to take approximately 10 months to complete.
