Cross Street in Galway City Centre will continue to be closed for the week from Monday while roadworks are taking place.
Galway City Council has made an order extending the closure of Cross Street from the Junction of Bridge Street / Lombard Street to the Junction of High Street / Quay Street.
This will be in place 24/7 for the week through to Friday, June 5 inclusive.
The extended road closure is to allow for the installation of automated bollards on the street.
A temporary diversion route will be in place via Lombard Street, Market Street, Abbeygate Street Upper, Mary Street, Eglington Street, William Street, Shop Street, High Street.
Localised access will be maintained as permitted within the limitations of those within the existing pedestrianised zone.
