Burst water main leaves Mervue residents without water

A burst water main in Galway city is affecting the water supply to residents of neighbourhoods in Mervue this afternoon.

Irish Water have reported a burst main in the area of the Michael Collins road in Mervue in the past half hour.

Residents of Quinn Place, Quinn Terrace, Saint James Road, Saint James Crescent, Glenina Heights, Michael Collins Road, Loughnane Place, Loughnane Terrace, and Cardinal Cushing Road could lose their water while this is being addressed.

Repair crews have been dispatched and Irish Water say they expect the water main to be repaired by approximately 3pm this afternoon.

But people who have lost their water in Mervue are advised to give 2-3 hours for full supply to return after repairs have been completed.
