Minister of State and Galway TD Anne Rabbitte opened the new Brothers of Charity day and respite service in Galway this week.

The Four Seasons Day Service and Summer Lodge Respite House has opened to serve the community in Claregalway and surrounding areas.

The €4.8 million project was built last year, and is now ready to begin taking people in.

It will provide day services for 20 individuals within their local community in Claregalwa.

The service will also provide an additional 1,344 respite bed nights for people supported by BOCSI West Region.

Also attending the opening were Cathaoirleach of Galway County Council Cllr Liam Carroll, Galway TDs Catherine Connolly, Mairead Farrell, Eamon Ó Cuív, and Noel Grealish, along with the HSE and families supported by the Brothers of Charity.
