The Cabinet has approved plans this afternoon to significantly ease COVID-19 lockdown restrictions from May 10.

From May 10, hairdressers and barbers will reopen, inter-county travel will be permitted and 50 people will be able to attend religious services including weddings and funerals.

Indoor wedding parties will stay capped at six guests though, and limited to 15 for outdoor celebrations.

Click-and-collect will also return on 10 May, with all retail reopening one week later on May 17.

Libraries, museums and galleries will also open again and team sports training will resume.

Hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses will be able to reopen their doors on June 2, with pubs and restaurants allowed to serve outdoors from June 7.
