A book of condolences in memory of Queen Elizabeth II has been opened by Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr Clodagh Higgins.

The book will be available in City Hall for anyone who wants to express messages of sympathy to the British royal family, and the British people on the passing of the Queen.

Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr Clodagh Higgins, extended her sympathies to Charles, the royal family, and people in Britain after Queen Elizabeth II died last week.

“Throughout her reign, of over 70 years, she demonstrated a commitment to duty and to public service,” she said.

“Her passing is the end of an era, and our thoughts are with all those feeling this loss at this sad time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam”.

The book of condolences will be available in City Hall, during normal opening hours, until 14 October 2022.
