Galway’s Westend will inaugurate a new partnership with local drama group the Blue Teapot Theatre Company when it lights up this Christmas.

From Bridge Mills to Dominick Street to Ravens Terrace across to Henry Street over to Williams Street West, into the small Crane and onto Sea Road, Galway’s Westend will officially light up on Friday, December 6.

Newly appointed Westend ambassador Patrick Becker from Blue Teapot Theatre Company will officially be turning on the Christmas lights at the Small Crane at 6:15pm.

“It’s a great honour to be asked to light up Galway’s Westend this Christmas, and I’m really proud to represent Blue Teapot Theatre Company,” said Patrick.

Blue Teapot is a multi-award-winning Theatre Company, Performing Arts School & Outreach programme for people with intellectual disabilities at the forefront of arts & disability in Ireland.

Galway’s Westend have formed a partnership with Blue Teapot for the upcoming year, and the theatre company will be the community’s official charity partner for 2020.

All proceeds from food and refreshments at the light up celebration will go directly to Blue Teapot, who are based on Munster Avenue in the westend.

This is a family friendly event and everyone is invited to join in the festive fun back west starting at 6pm.

If it’s raining the Christmas Launch will take place in Massimo’s Winter Wonderland on William Street West.

Just Art It on Dominick Street will be toasting to Christmas from 6pm to 9pm on December 6 as well. Everyone is invited to all events.

Galway’s westend will host a Table Quiz in Massimo Bar on Monday, November 25 at 7pm with a dazzling array of prizes.

These include tickets to some of the best gigs coming to Galway, a chance to eat in some of the best restaurants in Galway, drinks tabs and of course what would it be without a month’s supply of Toilet roll.
