Rare chance to own a house in a popular city neighbourhood

This spacious house in Taylor’s Hill, Galway is an unmissable opportunity to snatch up a property in one of the most attractive and sought after residential neighbourhoods in the city.

O’Donnellan & Joyce Auctioneers are offering this four bedroom terraced house at 5 St. Mary’s Avenue in Taylor’s Hill for sale at public auction on Friday 11th December at noon.

The next nationwide property auction from O’Donnellan & Joyce will take place on December 11 via live stream. In order to participate, prospective bidders must register online ahead of time.

Though it requires renovation and refurbishment to bring it up to modern standards, this house comes with a great amount of space, and an abundance of old school charm.

Just off the entrance hall is the main lounge, which looks out at the front garden. This well lit room is centred around a feature fireplace which comes with an elegant marble insert and mahogany mantelpiece.

Also downstairs is another living room, also fitted with a fireplace, a tiled kitchen, and a dining room with built in storage space and a solid fuel stove, furthering that old world feel.

All of these rooms look out over the rear garden, getting plenty of light from the open space, and a nice view away from the streets.

Below the ground floor is a basement which could be easily renovated for multiple different uses. The basement already has plumbing for a washing machine, having previously been used as a laundry room.

Upstairs are the house’s four bedrooms, two of which are fitted with built in wardrobes providing a large amount of storage space. One of the bedrooms is also outfitted with an open fireplace, providing great potential to heat the room during cold evenings.

Outside this property has mature garden’s both front and back, a luxury when buying in the city centre. The back garden in particular is very spacious, and would make a great undertaking for a green thumbed buyer.

Furnishings and decor can be changed, but location is everything when considering buying a home, and this house lies in one of the most desired locations in Galway City.

Taylor’s Hill lies just a stone’s throw from the Salthill Promenade, and all the amenities that are available in Salthill Village to enjoy shopping and eating while looking over Galway Bay.

In the other direction the neighbourhood is also within walking distance, or a five minute drive, of Galway City Centre and NUI Galway.
