The Irish Youth Wind Ensemble’s national tour is blowing in to Galway this weekend.

Conducted by Director of Music at the Artane School of Music Ronan O’Reilly and guest conductor Captain Thomas Kelly, the ensemble have some exciting and energetic music to get out of their systems.
The concert will feature music not often heard by Irish audiences like Bernstein’s suite from Candide, alongside compositions by Philip Sparke, Alfred Reid and Martin Ellerby.
They’re performing on Sunday July 29 at St. Nicholas’ Church on Mainguard street, Galway from 6:30pm t0 8:30pm.
Tickets are €15, or €10 concession, and can be bought at the door on the night.
This concert, and another on Monday at the Cork School of Music, is the end result of a week of training for the best young musicians in Ireland under top tutors in percussion, wind, and brass instruments at the University of Limerick.
