Young singers in Galway are being invited to apply to represent Ireland at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Adare Productions is encouraging talented young singers from across the island of Ireland to apply, with heats taking place in Dublin in March.

The winner, who must be aged between 9 and 14 years this autumn, will go on to represent Ireland at the Junior Eurovision which has over 7.5 million viewers across Europe.

In 2022, Sophie Lennon came fourth in the contest with her song Solas.

All that is needed to enter is an amazing singing voice, and no original song is necessary. Applications are open to solos, duets and groups of up to six people.

The closing date for entries is 15 February 2023.
