Local musicians have recorded a range of beloved Galway songs at iconic locations across the city for an unmissable film which will premier next weekend.

Amhráin, a series of performances filmed at locations such as The Cornstore, Bell, Book & Candle and Salthill Bandstand, will be shown on the Black Gate’s YouTube channel at 9pm on Saturday, April 17th.

The project came about when members of the Citóg Records music collective were asked last month to create new versions of local songs by artists past and present.

Featuring talented local musicians, Amhráin will take people on a nostalgic yet eye-opening tour of Galway’s public spaces, venues, independent stores and scenic outdoor locations.

The show will feature magical performances from Citóg Records members Katie O’Connor, Eoin Dolan, Tracy Bruen, Field Trip and many more, as they reimagine their favourite local songs.
