Young aspiring filmmakers in Galway will have a chance to be involved in a trainee film production crew for the 2022 Cross Border Short Film Academy.

The teenagers, aged 15-18 from across the island of Ireland, will be assigned roles on a film crew and must be available on the project dates which are 15 August, 10 September and 11 September.

Cinemagic is looking for committed, talented and creative young people for a series of film masterclasses and pre-production which will culminate in a short film made by the teenagers.

The successful applicants will take part in a compulsory programme of practical training, giving the young filmmakers an invaluable insight into all aspects of filmmaking.

“We are looking for young people from all backgrounds to come together on a cross-border project and work on a common goal and illustrate what can be achieved working as a team on this innovative opportunity.”

No previous experience is necessary, but applicants must be able to commit to the programme for its duration.
