With World Book Day set to be completely different this year, Bargain Max has launched a competition asking children to create their favourite hero from fiction books using any arts and craft.

The toy retailer has encouraged parents and carers to submit their children’s homemade crafty creations via Facebook or Instagram for a chance to win one of five prizes, with a £100 gift voucher as the top prize.

To be in with a chance of winning one of five amazing prizes, the creations will need to be original and feature a heroic fictitious character from a favourite book using materials found at home.

It is open to all children aged 16 and under, and the closing date is on February 17. This will be followed by a shortlisting stage before the five winners are finally chosen.

For families interested in entering their children’s creations, full competition terms and conditions can be found on the Bargain Max’s website.

“We have launched an amazing nationwide competition to make World Book Day 2021 extra special for children across the UK who cannot celebrate at school,” said a spokesperson for Bargain Max.

“We know how hard families are working to keep their children entertained during this lockdown and families right across the country are coming together to put children’s education first.

“The competition is open to children aged up to the ages of 16 years, but we please ask that it is the parent or guardian who enters their children’s creations via Facebook or Instagram.

“Very best of luck to everyone and we are looking forward to seeing all your crafty creations!”
