Galway successfully retained their Connacht under 14 ladies football title on Monday (7th May) after beating Mayo 5-12 to 2-5 in Ballindine.

Sarah Duffy, Gillian McGrath, Molly Mulryan (2) and Eabha Ni Dhonncha got the goals that ensured the margin remained comfortable throughout despite Mayo getting second half majors from Sinead Walsh and Niamh O’Malley.

It means Galway are through to the All-Ireland semi-final against Ulster opposition on May 27th as they look to repeat their 2017 winning run.

Before taking a soaking from his young charges, Galway manager Padraig Kilcommins was full of praise for his charges and still had good words to say about them afterwards 😀
