Galway daily news galway syndicate claims 133,000 euro prize

One luck person in Galway has gotten some very good news after winning €500,000 in the Lotto Daily Millions draw on Thursday.

The half a million euro pot was the top prize in the first draw of the day for the Lotto Daily Millions Plus.

The winning ticket was sold at Joyce’s Service Station, The Arch on the Caheroyn Road, Athenry.

The winning numbers were 1, 3, 8, 9, 23, 27, and the bonus number was 33.

The store’s owner Pat Joyce said “It’s a lovely bit of news to get and some great news for the town so to have sold this winning ticket is very exciting.”

“Our customers in the service station tend to be regulars from the local town so hopefully one of them is finding out that they are half a million better off today.”

“Congratulations to the winner and I wish them the very best for the future!”

This is the second big prize to come from one of Pat Joyce’s stores recently after a €4 million jackpot ticket was sold at Joyce’s supermarket in Doughiska last July.

A National Lottery spokesperson encouraged anyone who has stopped at Joyce’s in Athenry in recent days to check their tickets to see if they’re the lucky winner.

“If you are this lucky winner you can contact the National Lottery prize claims team If you are the lucky winner, please sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize once restrictions are lifted due to the on-going public health emergency.”

Amid the Covid-19 crisis the National Lottery has extended the window in which winners can claim their prizes so as to avoid making unnecessary journeys.

Winners in Lotto draws from January 9 through to July 5 will now have an additional three months in which to claim their prize.
