Celebrate Indian culture with the Diwali Festival of Lights

Get ready for a night that promises to light up the night sky with the annual Diwali Festival of Lights this month.

The Indian Cultural & Sports Community Galway is presenting this annual celebration of Indian culture, cuisine, music, and dance.

The ceremonial gathering marks an important day where the triumph of good over evil is celebrated with family gatherings, delicious traditional delicacies, and festive lights.

The festival of light is perhaps the biggest Indian celebration in Galway, attended by hundreds of people every year.

It not only brings Indians in Galway closer to home but also gives a flavour of Indian subcontinental culture to the local Galwegians.

This year the distinguished guest at the event will be Indian Ambassador to Ireland, Akhilesh Mishra, attending alongside Mayor of Galway Cllr Eddie Hoare.

Events on the day will include captivating dance and musical performances that will transport you to the very heart of India, while traditional Indian music stirs your soul.

Indulge in a buffet bursting with extravaganza of flavours and healthy spices from local cuisine that will transport your taste buds on a journey across India.

For some extra family fun there will also be on-the-spot raffle draws with fabulous prizes, and a live DJ for people to celebrate the night away.

The Diwali Festival of Lights celebration will take place on Saturday, November 18 from 5pm – 10pm in Leisureland.

Tickets cost €25 for adults and €10 for children, and are available online at https://tinyurl.com/ICSCDiwali2023.
