Staff from Galway County Council raised money for Hand in Hand Children’s Cancer Charity recently when they braved the Atlantic in their Dip and Donate fundraiser.
Every year, the month of September sees people around the world ‘Go Gold’ for Childhood Cancer Awareness, and to support those affected by this tragedy.
On September 30 staff from Galway County Council, along with their friends and family, braved the brisk Atlantic waters at Ladies Beach in Salthill.
The Dip and Donate event raised funds for Hand in Hand, a national childhood cancer charity which is based in Loughrea.
Over the course of the event the participants, and all those supporting them, raised €2,500 to support Hand in Hand’s services.
Chief Executive of Galway County Council Liam Conneally said that they were, “delighted to organise this event to support a charity like Hand in Hand, which offers invaluable services to families which have been impacted by childhood cancer.”
