Three months of N59 roadworks get underway

Roadworks on the N59 between Sraith Salach and Maam Cross which are expected to take three months got underway today.

Galway County Council has ordered surface improvement roadworks on a 4.7km stretch of the N59 from Derryneen to Bunskanniff in Connemara.

The project will involve planing out and reinstating the existing road surface, installing road markings, along with access and drainage works.

The contracts for the project has been awarded to McGraths Limestone Works Cong Ltd by the county council.

A Traffic management system will be in place while the construction work is being carried out over the next three months
