Roadworks are to take place at the Bóthar Stiofáin/Gateway Shopping Park junction (the junction at Lidl), beginning from Monday September 7.

These roadworks will last for one week and will be carried out by Jons Civil Engineering Ltd. on behalf of the Active Travel Department of Galway City Council.

The purpose of these works is to reduce the height of the raised junction at this junction, on foot of feedback received since the completion of works on the Bóthar Stiofáin Cycle Network Scheme.

Vehicular access will be restricted at this junction at all times between 7:30 a.m. on Monday September 7 and 5 p.m. on Friday September 11. Access for walkers, wheelers and cyclists will be maintained.

Motorists wishing to access Gateway Shopping Park from the Western Distributor Road are requested to proceed via the An Logán Roundabout Junction.

Motorists wishing to access Gateway Shopping Park from the Rahoon Road are requested to proceed via the junction adjacent to the Gort Gréine estate.

Signage will be in place to advise motorists of diversion routes via Western Distributor Road and via Rahoon Road.

Access to all businesses, schools and homes will be facilitated via the diversion routes.
