Two men have been charged in connection with the seizure of nearly a quarter of a million euro worth of cannabis in Galway City last weekend.
Gardaí seized €233,000 of suspected cannabis during two raids on homes in Roscam and Castlepark on Saturday.
During the first raid in the Roscam area Gardaí found cannabis with an estimated value of €122,000. Another €110,000 worth of cannabis was found in a follow up search in Castlepark.
During the course of the operation two men, aged in their 40s and 50s, were arrested in connection with the drug seizures.
Both men have since been charged. They have been released and are due to appear before Galway District Court next month.
An Garda Síochána has said that investigations into this case are ongoing.
