Two people have been arrested in connection with the seizure of nearly €250k worth of drugs during two raids in the Galway City area this weekend.
On Saturday, during the search of a home in the Roscam area of Galway, Gardaí found and seized cannabis with an estimated value of €122,000.
During a follow-up search under warrant of a residence in the Castlepark, Galway area, a further €111,000 of Cannabis herb was seized.
Two men, one aged in his 40’s and one in his 50’s, were arrested in connection with the investigation.
They are currently detained pursuant to section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug trafficking) Act 1996, at a Garda Station in the North Western Region.
The seized substances are being sent for analysis. An Garda Síochána has said that investigations into this matter are ongoing.
