Galway City Council has removed prior warning notices from two beaches following water quality tests done earlier this week.

Prior Warning Notices were erected for Ballyloughane and Grattan beaches due to potential contamination from heavy rain run off.

Further samples were taken from both beaches on Tuesday, June 2, the results of which have since been returned.

Bother beaches had excellent results from their water sampling, and the notices have been removed today.

Testing was also done at Silverstrand and Salthill beaches, both of which also returned excellent water quality results.
