Plans are in the works to open a new Padel Tennis Club in Oranmore, with approval being sought for courts and facilities.
Galway Padel Club Limited is seeking approval from the county council for five Padel courts at Deerpark Industrial Estate, Oranmore.
The club is also seeking planning for changing rooms and sanitary facilities, a manager’s office, along with car and bicycle parking.
Padel is a racket sport which has grown in popularity recently, played in doubles using solid rackets, on an enclosed court.
A decision on this planning application is due from Galway County Council by January 28.
