Water outages have been reported in the Glenamaddy area today due to a burst water mains.

Irish Water has said that a burst mains is affecting the supply to people in Glenamaddy, Kiltullagh, and on the Kilmascahill Group Water Scheme.

Repairs are underway, and it is currently expected that they will be completed by 3pm this afternoon.

It can take two to three hours after repairs are completed before water outages fully cease, as the network refills.

To ensure the safety of the public and crews carrying out the repairs to the burst, traffic management is currently in place.

Ronan Daly of Irish Water said “The repairs are being conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the area.”

“Irish Water understands the inconvenience caused when bursts occur and thanks customers in advance for their patience while we continue with these repairs and work to restore normal water supply to impacted customers.”
