Water outages in Kiltullagh and Galway City today

Homes and businesses in the area of Kiltullagh, Athenry and parts of Westside in Galway City are experiencing water outages today due to burst mains pipes.

A burst main in Kiltullagh in causing water outages as well as traffic disruptions to the area this morning.

The broken pipe was first reported by Irish Water shortly after 10am this morning, and repairs are expected to continue until 5pm this evening.

The area by this affected is from Duane’s Cross to Carnakelly Cross the county council has said, and there will also be reduced water pressure in the Carrabane area.

Repairs to a burst main in Cedarwood Close are also expected to cause disruptions to surrounding parts of Galway City today.

This works is scheduled to take place from 11am to 2pm on Monday afternoon.

In both instances, anyone in the affected areas is advised that it may take 2 – 3 hours after repairs have been completed before their full water supply is restored.
