The Turloughmore road has re-opened to traffic after gardaí attended the scene of a car accident late last night.

At around 1am near Fallon’s pub in Turloughmore, a car crashed into a parked vehicle.

The R354 between Turloughmore and Loughgeorge was closed this morning to facilitate an examination of the scene.

The road has since re-opened to traffic as the examination is concluded.

Three people were understood to be in the car, the driver and two female passengers.

They were taken to University Hospital Galway with injuries that are believed to be serious but not life threatening.
