A public consultation being held by the city council is underway for a BusConnects project in the east side of Galway City.

BusConnects Galway: Dublin Road is a continuous 4km corridor running from east of Moneenageisha Junction to the Doughiska Road Junction.

This aims to improve public transport, pedestrian, and cycling facilities along the route, and reduce the amount of car traffic.

Part of this will include improved frequency and journey time reliability of local bus, regional and national coach services.

A second public consultation on the project is being held for a period of four week, and got underway on Friday.

Information on the project can be found at the virtual information room, along with feedback forms for people to submit their views on the preferred route.

Previously, a consultation was held back in 2020, but significant changes made to the design since then, along with updated public guidelines, necessitate a second public consultation.
