Traffic in the west side of Galway City is being disrupted this evening due to a burst water mains.
Traffic management is currently in place on the Western Distributor Road, where repairs to the burst pipe are underway.
Galway City Council said that this will require “city-bound vehicles on the Western Distributor Road, approaching the roundabout at Bothar Stiofán, to divert around by Gateway Retail Park before coming back onto the Western Distributor Rd.”
This is also causing water outages to homes and businesses on the Western Distributor Road, Gateway Retail Park, and Sliabh Ard estate.
Repair work are currently scheduled to continue until 10pm tonight.
