The N17 bypass will be closed tonight for a period as emergency repairs are carried out to the wire rope barrier.
The barrier was damaged in a recent road traffic collision.
There will be a full closure of the NB carriageway at 9pm, and the road is expected to reopen again by 10pm.
Traffic will be diverted through Tuam while the repair works are being carried out.
