Galway Lifeboat assists casualty on French fishing vessel

Galway Lifeboat was called to a French fishing boat this afternoon to carry out a medical evacuation of a crew member.
The casualty on the French vessel Scombrus was brought on board the Lifeboat and returned to the port.
Ambulance crew assessed patient who was then taken to University Hospital Galway.
The crew member’s injury is not believed to be serious.
David Badger attended the casualty along with Lifeboat crew Olivia Byrne, Cathal Byrne and Joanne Casserly. The DLA on duty was Sean Og Leydon.
