Gardaí are appealing for information after a young man was threatened and robbed in Eyre Square yesterday afternoon.
The young man was walking close to the playground and Kennedy Garden around 2.50pm on Monday when he was approached by a man who then threatened him and demanded money.
The thief then fled the scene with two other males in the direction of the Skeffington Arms Hotel.
The man is described as being in his 40s or 50s, with greying hair and a moustache. He was wearing a navy or blue jacket at the time of the incident.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident on Eyre Square or has information that could aid the investigation is asked to contact Galway Gardaí on 091-538000.
