A man in his 20s is due to appear before Galway District Court this evening in connection with the seizure of €140,000 worth of cocaine in Galway City.
A house in the Newcastle Road area of the city was searched by Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit on Friday, June 25.
During the course of the search, they found and seized €140,000 worth of suspected cocaine, and over €2,800 in cash.
One man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and detained at Galway Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice, (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
He has now been charged and is due before a special sitting of the District Court on Saturday evening.
