In the past few days, the government has been advising the public to wear face masks on public transport and other areas where adequate social distancing cannot be achieved.
The World Health Organisation has said that wearing masks is likely to reduce potential exposure risk from people with COVID-19 before they develop symptoms.
Many countries have recommended the use of masks for the general public – in Spain, wearing a mask in shops, public transport and on busy streets is obligatory.
