The number of people in Galway hospitalised with COVID-19 has dropped to just four known cases, none of whom are in Intensive Care.

The latest HSE figures from 8pm on Friday show that there are three confirmed cases at UHG and just one at Portiuncula Hospital.

There are an equal number and spread of suspected COVID cases at Galway’s acute hospitals.

Importantly there not a single confirmed or suspected case in Intensive Care in Galway as of Friday evening.

Nationwide there are 187 people hospitalised with COVID-19, of whom 34 are in the ICU and 18 are on ventilators.

There were 14 new cases reported in Galway yesterday, with the county’s 14-day incidence rate now standing at 63.6 cases per 100,000 population.
