Irish Water is appealing to customers on the Mid Galway Water Supply to cut back amid high demand in recent days.
There has been a higher demand for water in Tamplecross, Gurteen, Carrabane, Cahertinny, Caherhenryhoe, Attymon and Kiltullagh than in recent years.
This, at the same time as our recent dry weather, has seen the supply affected by interruptions and low pressure.
With more hot weather due this week, Irish Water is appealing to customers on the Mid Galway Supply to conserve water.
Rónan Daly, Irish Water’s Regional Lead, appealed to customers to continue conserving water.
“We would like to thank the public for their support in conserving water. It can sometimes be difficult to know where to start, but even small changes can make a significant difference – and we can all play our part.”
By reducing our water use, for example turning off the hose and avoiding power washing, we can all help ensure there is enough water for everyone as we go through the rest of the summer and into autumn.
“We will continue to monitor the levels at all our supplies over the coming weeks and months and take any actions that may be necessary to maintain supplies, including communicating about localised issues as they arise.”
