Residents in Bearna and Knocknacarra are being asked to complete an online survey about the Irish language in the area.

The voluntary group Pleanáil Teanga Bhearna/Chnoc na Cathrach has launched the survey as a way to assess the desires and needs of the community in relation to the development of the Irish language.

They hope information from the survey will help form a concrete plan to continue to build a vibrant community of Irish language speakers in the area and maintain its Gaeltacht status.

The survey is anonymous and bilingual and takes about ten minutes to complete.

It is available at www.ptbc.ie and will be open until 1 st December.

Additional information regarding the survey or the voluntary work of our language planning committee Pleanáil Teanga Bhearna/Chnoc na Cathrach can be found here.
