A man charged with possessing cannabis and cocaine with the intent to sell it has been indicted and sent forward to trial.
Paul Lambe (35), with an address at John Coogan Park, Newcastle appeared before Galway District Court charged with the possession and intent to sell or supply cannabis and cocaine.
The Director of Public Prosecutions has directed trial by indictment, and consented for Lambe to be sent forward to the next sitting of Galway Circuit Court for criminal business, starting on January 14.
Garda Patrick James Noone served the Book of Evidence on the accused at Galway District Court this week.
He is charged with allegedly having possession of both cannabis and cocaine, which he intend to sell or otherwise supply, at Eyre Square on February 2 of last year.
He faces two counts of simple possession under Section 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, and two counts of possession with the intent to sell or supply under Section 15 of the same Act.
Judge Mary Fahy gave Mr Lambe an alibi warning, telling him that if he intends to present an alibi as part of any defence the state must be informed of it before the trial.
